Congratulations to University of Washington School of Public Health doctoral students Amanda Brumwell and Miriana Duran on being named 2024–2025 Magnuson Scholars! The scholarships, announced May 9, recognize one student annually from each of the UW Health Sciences schools on the basis of outstanding academic performance and potential contributions to research in the health sciences. 

Congratulations to University of Washington School of Public Health faculty Grace John-Stewart for receiving the 2024 Marsha L. Landolt Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award! The Landolt Award recognizes faculty who exemplify excellence in graduate student education. John-Stewart along with the other UW award recipients will be honored on June 6, at the annual UW Awards of Excellence Ceremony.

Congratulations three students who were named to the Husky 100 - Patience Komba, Doctor of Global Health Leadership and Practice (DrGH), Sandra Urusaro, MPH, Global Health; Graduate Certificate in Global Health of Women, Adolescents, and Children, and DGH Communications student assistant, undergraduate Sophie Li, BS, Public Health – Global Health. 

The purpose of the Husky 100 program is to recognize the outstanding work and achievements of students who are making the most of their Husky Experience.  

Two University of Washington researchers have been named AAAS Fellows, according to an April 18 announcement by the American Association for the Advancement of Science. They are among 502 newly elected fellows from around the world, who are recognized for their “scientifically and socially distinguished achievements” in science and engineering.
