RESEARCH INTERESTS

Antigenic variation of Tprk, a putative outer membrane protein in Treponema pallidum subsp. pallidum, the agent of syphilis, plays an etiological role in disease persistence. My project in the Giacani Lab aims to further our understanding of TprK antigenic variation through the use of genetic engineering techniques.
