The future of the region's global health sector took center stage at the 39th annual enterpriseSeattle economic forecast Jan. 13. The Washington Global Health Alliance (WGHA) was asked by enterpriseSeattle to partner on the sold-out event (more than 500 attendees, including Gov. Christine Gregoire). Many global health organizations, including the Department of Global Health, were featured in the "global health innovation room," allowing groups to introduce their work to a broader business community. The WGHA highlighted the growing impact of the global health cluster in a panel discussion with Christopher Elias of PATH, Jeff Williams from Halosource, Bob Aylward from Global Health Nexus and Lisa Cohen with the Washington Global Health Alliance. The discussion was moderated by King TV's Jean Enersen. The topping was a great speech by Martha Choe at the Gates Foundation about the increasing potential for the future for global health work in this region. You can get a brief overview on the Prosperity Partnership blog and the full webcast will be up on the WGHA website this week thanks to Global Health Nexus.
