PhD in Global Health Metrics and Implementation Science

Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

I earned my Bachelor and Master of Arts in English and Master of Development Studies from the University of Dhaka, and a Master of Public Health in Global Health from Syracuse University in New York. Prior to coming to the U.S., I was working with BRAC University James P Grant School of Public Health in Bangladesh for several years at different capacities including as a program/project director.

Why did you decide to attend the UW for graduate school?

I was working in global health for several years, and then I implemented a capacity building project on implementation research and became passionate about building a career in implementation science in global health.

What are your research interests and career goals?

I aim to continue researching social determinants of health in order to develop cost-effective preventive interventions for both non-communicable diseases like cancer and diabetes in the United States, as well as infectious diseases of poverty like malaria in developing countries.

When you aren't studying, where is your favorite place to hangout in Seattle?

I enjoy hanging out at the University Bay area.
