This yea,r GSEC received 160 submissions from students in 37 countries. The judges selected 20 semi-finalist teams from universities in Bangladesh, China, Pakistan, the Philippines, Rwanda, Uganda, and the United States. Bangladesh is supporting the greatest number of teams (seven). A trade show and rounds of competition are held on campus and open to the public Monday-Thursday. Check the schedule for more details.
The Global Social Entrepreneurship Competition (GSEC) sponsored by the Foster School of Business and the Department of Global Health is an international student social business plan competition that challenges university-level students worldwide to use business principles to alleviate some of the world’s most challenging problems of poverty. Now in its 10th year, GSEC brings people across disciplines to build the skills of social entrepreneurs worldwide.  Since its inception, students from 63 countries have submitted proposals for sustainable business solutions to problems of poverty.
