Atul Gawande's most recent article in The New Yorker, Slow Ideas, examines barriers to the spread of good medical technology, and it highlights the work of University of Washington student analysts from the Strategic Analysis Research and Training (START) program.  START is a collaboration between the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the University of Washington that allows students to provide analysis and research to the Foundation.  Gawande's article mentioned START's comparative case studies of various countries, including Bangladesh, and their approach to the treatment of diarrhea.
