Global Burden of Disease Study

This project is an approach to global descriptive epidemiology. It is a systematic, scientific effort to quantify the comparative magnitude of health loss due to diseases, injuries, and risk factors by age, sex, and geographies for specific points in time. Going forward, annual updates to worldwide morbidity and mortality estimates will be completed by an international collaborative team led by the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation at the University of Washington.
