A randomized adaptive multi-arm-controlled trial to reduce mortality and readmission among children with HIV and severe acute malnutrition in sub-Saharan Africa
This adaptive trial is to address the biological and social determinants of multi-morbidity in children with HIV-SAM by developing multimodal packages of interventions and testing them in a 5-arm adaptive randomized controlled clinical trial, with death/hospitalization as the primary outcome. The Primary collaborators KEMRI-UW & KEMRI Welcome Trust in Kenya and Partners from Zambia and Zimbabwe. Funding by NIHR (UK) through Queen Mary University.
