Repurposing of antibiotics for syphilis and yaws treatment.

This proposal aims at using a newly described system to propagate Treponema pallidum in vitro, as well as the animal model of the disease to test new antibiotics that can be brought into clinical practice in addition to beta-lactams to cure syphilis and possible other treponematoses.
