Characterizing early trajectories of monocyte activation to inform mechanisms of neurocognitive impairment in pediatric HIV

This project will determine the relationship between non-classical monocyte populations and monocyte activation and neurodevelopmental outcomes in Kenyan HIV-infected children and will also determine trajectories of monocyte populations in HIV-infected children in relation to the HIV latent reservoir. Collaborators are co-investigators at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center (FHCRC). Funding is provided by the UW/FHCRC Center for AIDS Research.
