A mixed-methods study of social, economic and spatial inequalities in GoFundMe campaigns responding to COVID-19
This is a mixed-methods study to better understand the use of GoFundMe to respond to COVID-19 in the US. Using geospatial, statistical, and targeted qualitative methods, the project aims to track the rapid expansion of pandemic-related crowdfunding and its relationship to new and existing economic and social inequalities. Funding is provided through an NSF Accel grant and the UWB School of Nursing and Health Studies.
