PrEP and dPEP: Doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis for prevention of sexually transmitted infections among Kenyan women using HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis
We propose a trial of dPEP for women in an African setting, who have a high and disproportionate burden of morbidity and mortality from STIs. We hypothesize that dPEP will be effective in reducing incident STIs in African women and will be feasible, acceptable, safe, and cost effective and will not contribute to substantial additional antimicrobial resistance.
