Development of routine monitoring and surveillance methods for progress towards elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV

This is continuation of Malawi's pioneering work on PMTCT (Option B+), building on the NEMAPP study and PHIA surveys. The current focus is on developing a routine monitoring strategy for late infant transmission originating from incident maternal infection during late pregnancy and the breastfeeding period, which are currently not captured in routine health service statistics.
