State of the World's NCD Medicines and Supplies

The lack of affordable and available supplies for combatting NCDs is a major constraint in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. More than 2 billion people worldwide lack access to essential medicines; the problem is particularly acute in low- and middle-income countries. RTI is collaborating with the Defeat-NCD partnership to develop a report on the availability of critical resources around the world to treat and prevent NCDs. This report will provide country-specific information on NCD essential medicines, diagnostic capabilities, and equipment, with a specific focus on supplies for diabetes, hypertension, cancer, and chronic respiratory disease supplies in more than 90 countries. This first-of-its-kind report provides necessary information for policymakers and stakeholders to understand the resources available, gaps in NCD medicines and supplies, and gaps in data availability.
