Jak-STAT Control of Zika Virus Induced Fetal Injury

The goal of our proposal is to investigate Zika virus blockade of JAK-STAT signaling as a mechanism for enhancing viral pathogenesis, vertical transmission and altering fetal neurodevelopment in vitro, ex vivo and in an unique pregnant nonhuman primate model. Funding is provided through an NIH R01 through 2024.
