Use of seasonal climate forecasts to generate a dengue and Zika disease forecast system in Central America and the Caribbean

The goal of this project is to incorporate seasonal climate forecasts and historic data into mosquito-borne disease models to forecast risk of Aedes transmitted pathogens, principally dengue, in the tropical Americas. We will work with partner countries to generate and evaluate the forecasting system and discuss how to incorporate it into existing vector control strategies. The project is funded through the NOAA International Research and Applications Project.
