National and sub-national estimation of HIV prevalence incidence and coverage of antiretroviral therapy

This evolving is a collaboration between the Department of HIV and AIDS, MOH Malawi and the HIV Modelling Consortium (Imperial College London) / UNAIDS, building on recent population based survey and facility-level HIV program data. Malawi will be one of the first countries to carry out a follow-up PHIA survey in early 2020 (supported by ICAP) contributing to the increasingly rich empirical data available for subnational estimation of HIV prevalence, incidence, etc. Results have informed programmatic targeting for sub-populations and small geographic areas.
