Arbidol as an Antiviral for Ebola Virus

This R21 application proposes to expand our studies on the antiviral activity and mechanisms of action of ARB against EBOV. We hypothesize that ARB inhibits EBOV entry into cells and is efficacious in vivo. We will pursue the hypothesis in two Specific Aims that will evaluate ARB efficacy against EBOV in cell culture and animal models. Both aims will investigate the prophylactic and therapeutic potential of ARB.
