Immunologic Correlates of EBV Containment in HIV Infected Infants

This project investigates the role of EBV-specific T cell responses, B cell activation, and maternal antibodies in the containment of EBV infection in HIV-infected infants. Our findings will have relevance for EBV vaccine design, understanding EBV pathogenesis, and devising new interventions to prevent EBV-related diseases in HIV-infected individuals. The research is supported by a CFAR New Investigator Award. Primary collaborators are the UW and the University of Nairobi.
