Strengthening Global Health Capacity at Chinese Universities
This program is funded by the China Medical Board and includes three synergistic components: 1) graduate education in global health for masters and doctoral students; 2) training for faculty scholars; and 3) collaborative applied research projects. All students and faculty scholars have been mentored in collaborative applied research projects related to global health, and five students have already participated in overseas research projects in Mozambique, India, Ghana, Zimbabwe and Kenya. The program has catalyzed a substantial expansion of collaborative activities in global health with partner universities and within the UW – with funds that have supplemented our CMB grant.
