Genotyping and molecular epidemiology of IHN virus in Pacific salmonids.

This is an ongoing project that links IHN virus surveillance efforts by state, federal, and tribal fish health laboratories with genotyping and epidemiological analyses of virus field isolates.  Results are used in support of fish health management throughout the Pacific Northwest, and inform long-term understanding of RNA viral transmission and emergence cycles.  Funding is provided by the U.S.G.S. and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
