Genotyping and molecular epidemiology of IHN virus in Pacific Northwest salmonids
This is an ongoing program that conducts genotyping of virus field isolates and applies modern phylogenetic and population genetic analyses to assess patterns of virus spatial movements and evolution through time in the natural environment. This is a primary field model of infectious disease dynamics in natural vertebrate hosts. Funding is through the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
