Biography 

Jim is an infectious disease specialist and virologist who focuses his research and clinical practice on preventing and treating viral infections in vulnerable populations, like immunocompromised patients. His laboratory research leverages innovative immunologic approaches to study antigen-specific B cell and antibody responses to respiratory viruses. He also designs and conducts clinical trials of antibodies for protection against respiratory viruses in immunocompromised patients. As an infectious disease specialist at the Fred Hutch, he cares for patients battling cancer and infections. In addition to his research and clinical activities, Jim is passionate about teaching and medical education.
