Development and validation of an agent-based model to promote evidence-based control of Taenia solium cysticercosis

The goal of this study is to produce a validated simulation model for T. solium as a tool to guide control and elimination interventions for this parasite. A series of observational and experimental studies will be conducted to collect information needed for model parameters. Collaborating institutions include Ghent University, Duke Global Health Institute, the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia and its Center for Global Health Tumbes. Funding is provided through the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease.
