T cell immune response to syphilis

In the context of a UW-lead NIH U19 grant, the Koelle lab has a project which will study the human T cell response to Treponema pallidum, the bacterial cause of syphilis, and assist projects that are investigating candidate vaccines. The lab will measure T cell responses in blood and in skin biopsies of syphilitic lesions to several Treponema proteins and assist mouse vaccination studies with lead candidates.
