Program Evaluation of the Tanzanian National Cervical Cancer Prevention and Control Strategic Plan

In collaboration with the Tanzanian Ministry of Health, CDC, and Pink Ribbon Red Ribbon Campaign, UW/ITECH is conducting an evaluation of cervical cancer secondary prevention services using in 24 facilities in 6 priority regions in Tanzania to inform the next 5-year national strategy. Data collection includes semi-structured surveys among key stakeholders, facility surveys, clinic-based observations of screening and treatment procedures, client records reviews, and a surveillance system assessment. Outcomes include improved understanding of strengths and challenges of the program, facility performance, assessment of data quality, and preliminary estimation of secondary screening coverage against regional targets. Funding is provided by the Ariel Glaser Paediatric AIDS Healthcare Initiative.
