Ensino a Distancia

HIV/AIDS care in Mozambique has been decentralized, and a growing proportion of HIV-infected persons now receive antiretroviral therapy and related services in rural or periurban health facilities staffed by non-physician clinicians who lack on-site professional backup. To fill this gap,and with the aim of quality improvement, I-TECH Mozambique is collaborating with the Mozambican Ministry of Health (MISAU) to provide Mozambican HIV/AIDS clinicians, particularly in remote areas, with access to clinical consultation by telephone “warmline” and to online resources for individual and group study. As of summer 2017, Mozambique-based clinicians from I-TECH and MISAU are piloting a 10-session, case-based distance-learning course for HIV/AIDS clinicians nationwide. The course will be updated based on the pilot experience, and a second iteration will be taught in fall 2017. This project builds on nearly 12 years of experience in HIV/AIDS training for Mozambican clinicians.
