Advancing Maternal Immunization (AMI) Collaboration

AMI is a collaborative initiative led by PATH and WHO with the goal reducing infant morbidity and mortality from respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs) through maternal immunization. We expect these efforts will also support the expanding field of maternal immunization overall. Given the unique nature of the maternal immunization platform, AMI is bringing together experts in the vaccine and maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) spaces to inform this important work. Between August 2017 and mid-2018, AMI members will identify and prioritize information and evidence required for making efficient, well-informed global and country decisions around RSV maternal immunizations for LMICs. We will consolidate our work in a gap analysis and jointly develop a road map to guide future investments around implementation efforts for RSV maternal vaccine.
