Downstaging Breast Cancer in Uganda

The main purpose of this project is to identify and address patient and healthcare factors contributing to the late-stage presentation of breast cancer. This project involves capacity building in breast ultrasound and clinical breast examinations, to standardize the approach of evaluating symptomatic women seeking medical care. It also aims to raise breast cancer awareness with survivor organizations.

Primary collaborators include the Ugandan Cancer Institute, UWOCASO (a breast cancer survivor group), the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Imaging the World, and the American Roentgen Ray Society.
