Chlamydia Virulence: Exploitation of Host N-Glycosylation

The chlamydial glycan on the major outer membrane protein (MOMP) plays a major role in Chlamydia infection of host cells. This project focuses on testing the hypothesis that MOMP is glycosylated by the host machinery through Chlamydia recruitment of the machinery to the Chlamydia inclusion within the host cell.  Primary collaborators are at the UW. Funding is provided through a NIH R01 award through 2019.
