Economic and Behavioral Psychological Determinants of the Demand for Medical male Circumcision for HIV Prevention

In this project, we develop a demand model based on rational expectations (economic) theory and behavioral psychology theory to study the incentives and barriers that drive individual male circumcision decisions in a high HIV, low circumcision prevalence setting. Our broad goal is to use this model to inform the development and predict the potential impact of innovative strategies to stimulate the demand for male circumcision. The effectiveness of these strategies can then be tested using formal implementation science research.
