Geospatial analysis of childhood infectious and nutritional diseases

The goal of this project is to develop a comparable set of 5x5 km geospatially-accurate maps of a number of conditions relevant to child health, including diarrhea, lower respiratory infections, malaria, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, undernutrtion (stunting, wasting, underweight), under-5 mortality, and selected neglected tropical diseases for approximately 100 low and middle income countries. It will synthesize information at the local level to inform the more optimal allocation of new and existing intervention options, and in turn catalyze impact on the major nutritional and communicable disease causes of under-5 mortality and the “big five” priority diseases of the B&MGF.
