Discovery of Novel Pathogens and Pathways for Malignancies of Global Importance

Through a unique collaboration of leading scientists at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and the Uganda Cancer Institute, we will search for new viral causes of four globally-important malignancies: lung cancer, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and cancer of the conjunctiva. Identification of infectious causes for these cancers could lead to new paradigms in cancer prevention and treatment.
