With recent changes in the UWSOM curriculum, we have adjusted GHP course (NCS) requirements to work toward parity for WWAMI region students' access to GHP-approved courses. Use the following guide to find the course credit requirement for your entering year.
E-17: Complete 2 credits G H prefix courses; additional credits optional.
E-15 and E-16: Complete 2-3 credits of courses eligible for GHP credit (G H or other prefix)
Pre-E-15: Complete 4 credits of GHP-approved courses (G H or other prefix)
Please note that students may not take courses that conflict with required UWSOM coursework.
For those who entered prior to 2016, we will accept 1 credit from any language course you take while in the UWSOM including “Spanish for Healthcare Professionals.”
Please note that some G H courses require you to register for a medical student section.
Please check with your WWAMI coordinator to confirm G H and related course offerings at your site. Some G H courses located at the Seattle site will be available to WWAMI sites (as many as we can coordinate).
Please check with Rachel if you have questions. Your campus may be offering something we don't know about, so please notify me if this comes up!
Any "G H" prefix course is applicable to GHP requirements. Below are those that medical students may find easiest to fit into your schedules. If you'd like to take a G H course that isn't listed, but for which medical students are eligible to register, you can apply up to 2 credits from those courses.
