Ann Duerr's research focuses on AIDS and HIV prevention, including clinical trials in resource-poor settings, eludicating factors that help prevent sexual transmission of HIV, novel vaccine strategies for induction of mucosal immunity, and studies on antiretroviral therapy (ART). She has published widely on HIV infection in women and sexual and gender minority populations, biological and epidemiological determinants of HIV transmission, and HIV-STD interactions. She has served on numerous advisory committees, both domestically and internationally, and worked as a consultant with the World Health Organization and PEPFAR.
